Hard now and hard back in the day are two different things. The last time I felt a game really gave you a good old school Challenge was in the original DMC3 yet that game was attacked for its difficulty rather than praised for it.

Old school games like NES Ninja Gaiden, Contra, Castlevania, Battletoads hell even Metroid were completely unforgiving when it comes to difficulty and those are some amazing titles still beloved by millions. Completing games back in the day was never a sure thing so, when you actually did finish one the level of accomplishment you felt was unmatched.

Nowadays made are made to be completed by everyone so the difficulty is scaled back so that more people are able to complete the game. #nightnote

ZenGaijin

Quick question about the night vision goggles. Whats going to happen when someone using them stares at a bright light (like headlights ,for instance) while wearing them? If they are real night vision goggles they will intensify the light a thousand fold.. That's how night vision goggles work. They intensify light in dark, near blackout conditions. Military applications have a sensor that when it detects sudden change in light deploys shutters faster than the light can damage the human eye.

I bought a night vision monoscope for playing paintball at night about 10 years ago that cost about $600.00. It did not have a shutter. It strictly stated in the instructions to not use it where it can come into contact with bright lights as the user can have permanent retina damage from that.

What exactly do the goggles included in the game do? I really haven't seen too much info on them. They are probally just a set of cheap binoculars with a green plastic film on the inside of the lens.

Does anyone have a link describing the goggles? #callofdutymodernwarfare2

Gnarkiller

@peacefuloutrage: It's not only lack of advertising they complain about. More important is how indie games on XBL are crippled. You can't play them offline, demos have to be max 7 minutes long(which kills some games), I don't think I could download any of the indie games before downloading some strange file that I didn't even know existed.

Futhermore once you play any normal game it gets bumped up on the list of recently plated. Not so for indie games. It always sticks there with the time of the download, so after few days you can't run it quickly and confortably. I have one nice and simple game from XBL Indie games that I would like to run for few minutes of fun every day. Unfortunatelly sometimes Xbox takes 5 minutes just to populate the list on quick launch-all games menu... 3 core system...

Well, it would be nice if Indie games would get exposure from time to time on the insider, but it would be nice if indie games had less of massage simulators... I guess one can always take promotion in his own hands. #trials

Areinu
